Plus I reckon he's probably out of consumption range there if Y'Shaarj is at the centre, presumbly its power diminishes further out.

I think there was an even weaker Old God closer to Y'Shaarj which was consumed, the last remnants of which are Xal'Atath. I'd be surprised if they take us back there. It wouldn't be the first time that the lore has changed. Chances are they planned for N'Zoth to be there originally, but plans changed during Cata. Nonetheless, you can see that N'Zoth's territory does cut a very thin slice through Ragnaros' domain, but that push would have most likely originated from his center where his forces are strongest.Īlso, how do you explain this text and the seat of power for Twilight's Hammer being here?My explanation for that text is that Cataclysm was quite a long time ago. Likewise, Ragnaros is easily the strongest of the Elementals and his domain is much too close to the supposed location of 'the weakest' Old God for it to have stood any chance against both threats. The only way I see it having a shot to get the area it got was if it landed closer to the other edge. 'The weakest' Old God landing that close to the strongest (Y'Shaarj) is more likely to have been consumed. The Old Gods were not allies in the beginning.
